- EU vs US
What changes when you switch
Wait for the email, don't poll for it
waitFor holds one request open on the server until a matching email lands, then returns it parsed: subject, HTML, text, headers and attachments. The Mailtrap SDK has no wait call, so tests list the inbox in a loop.
npm install @mailloop/sdk import MailloopClient from '@mailloop/sdk';
const mailloop = new MailloopClient({ apiKey });
// Sign up in your app with the sandbox address
await app.registerUser(sandbox.emailAddress);
// Wait on the server until the email lands, no polling
const email = await mailloop.emails.waitFor(sandbox.id, {
subject: 'Verify your email',
timeout: 30_000,
});
// Assert on content
expect(email.html).toContain('/verify?token='); An address on every sandbox
Send to the sandbox from Stripe, Gmail or any other service, on the free plan too. Sandbox email address on paid plans only on Mailtrap.
See it the way Gmail and Outlook draw it
Render a captured email in Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail and more, light and dark, from the dashboard, the API or your agent. Slide across the confirmation email: Outlook classic drops the button padding Gmail keeps. Gmail web is on the free plan. Mailtrap has device previews across 100+ client configurations, available on request on Business and Enterprise.
Try it before you switch anything off. Point one environment at Mailloop, a single CI job or staging, and leave the rest where it is. The free plan takes 500 emails a month with no card, so the suite can run on both before you move everything.

- Your coding agent's email checks
Connecting a coding agent
An agent that just changed the signup flow can check the email itself: make a sandbox, wait_for_email, read the links, render it. Both tools have an official MCP server; they connect differently.
- Mailloop
- Hosted at api.mailloop.io/mcp. The agent signs in through the browser, so no token sits in a config file.
- Mailtrap
- Runs locally over stdio (npx mcp-mailtrap) with an API token, account ID and inbox ID in the client config.
claude mcp add --transport http mailloop https://api.mailloop.io/mcp Sign up on staging with a fresh address and check the verification email.
The email arrived and the verify link opens the right page. In Gmail with dark mode the logo disappears against the header, so it needs a light outline.
